CKC
believes its obligation to a client extends beyond
ensuring structural integrity. We believe it also
includes designing cost-effective and efficient
structures. We call this buildability.
To create buildability, we
first review the full range of structural systems
possible for the project. We
narrow the resulting list of systems to the two
or three most feasible alternates. We then produce
preliminary framing plans for each alternate,
along with a spreadsheet of structural material
quantities. This enables the contractor to produce
an accurate construction cost estimate for each
system.
Normally, the most cost-effective
system is chosen. Sometimes, however, other design
requirements dictate choosing a more expensive
alternate. With CKC's approach, cost estimates
are available for each system when making this
decision.
We invite you to select a case history and review the structural efficiency CKC has helped create for others. |
