ECR and Diller, currently in construction, is a new residential project in Redwood City, a San Francisco Bay area community located in the heart of Silicon Valley. The project includes an eight-story concrete residential tower with 315 units over three levels of subterranean parking. The project also features street-level retail, a fitness room, club room, and rooftop pool.

The structure is cast-in-place concrete supported by a mat foundation. Concrete shear walls resist seismic and wind loads. CKC’s seamless integration of the concrete structure met layout requirements of both the residential units and parking structure below.

CKC used two-way, flat-plate post-tensioned slabs throughout the project, which decreased the floor-to-floor height and allowed the developer to add an additional floor within the site’s height restriction. Additionally, CKC implemented an elegant structural system to accommodate a high water table at the site, while minimizing cost impact to the project.
