Mark Whiteley is a Senior Principal at Cary Kopczynski & Company (CKC) with over 30 years of experience designing major high‑rise and mid‑rise structures throughout the United States. He has extensive expertise in all major structural systems and materials, including conventionally reinforced concrete, post‑tensioned concrete, and structural steel. His work spans high‑seismic and high‑wind regions, and his project portfolio includes high‑rise residential, hotel, office, and mixed‑use towers, as well as complex below‑grade and free‑standing parking structures.

Mark has led the design of multiple performance‑based high‑rise towers on the West Coast and has been instrumental in advancing the innovative use of high‑performance steel fiber in reinforced concrete coupling beams for tall building systems. He has also managed a substantial number of peer review, value engineering, and expert‑witness assignments, providing clients with trusted technical insight and seasoned engineering judgment.

Mark has been recognized with multiple Presidents' Awards from the Structural Engineers Association of Washington (SEAW) for his exceptional leadership and service. He has served on the SEAW Seattle Chapter board, taught the SEAW structural engineering licensing refresher course for fourteen years, and chaired the course committee for seven years. He now serves on the board of the Structural Engineers Foundation of Washington (SEFW).

Mark joined CKC in 2005 after ten years of structural engineering practice in Houston, Texas. He holds both BS and MS degrees in Civil/Structural Engineering from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
