NoHo III

Project Size: 215,000 square feet

Architect: Jerde Partnership, Los Angeles, California

Developer: J.H. Snyder Co., Los Angeles, California

Contractor: J.H. Snyder Co., Los Angeles, California

NoHo III is a 215,000 square foot, Class-A office building designed as an extension of the arts and community oriented NoHo Commons district in North Hollywood, California. Built with an assortment of eco-friendly materials and utilizing sustainable practices, the project achieved LEED Gold certification.

The building brings a unique feature to the greater Los Angeles office market by using a cast-in-place concrete structural frame. While most similar developments have chosen structural steel, the NoHo III team chose concrete for its design flexibility, construction economy and local availability.

Working closely with the architect and contractor, CKC developed a long span framing system with clear spans up to fifty feet in length, and only three interior columns in floor plates of 20,000 square feet. This created exceptionally open interior spaces. Additionally, beam sizes, column sizes and bay spacing were standardized to facilitate use of a high production forming system, resulting in a rapid construction schedule and lower construction cost.
