El Paseo De Saratoga will transform part of a suburban mall into a vibrant, walkable urban village, featuring amenities like a community park, farmers’ market, outdoor seating, terraces, a game lawn and dog park, all centered around a pedestrian-focused main drive that fosters walkability and community connection.

The project is a major 1,400,000 SF multi-family development in San Jose, California. It includes two towers on a 150,000 SF podium, with 772 housing units, 988 parking spaces, and 165,950 square feet of commercial space.

The towers are being constructed of cast-in-place concrete. CKC carefully evaluated several lateral systems - from concrete shear walls to ductile moment frames - to resist the high seismic forces. Hybrid concrete moment frames were ultimately selected due to their high ductility, efficiency, and speed of construction. The frames are located internally so that the beams do not obstruct exterior views or create other architectural impacts. Floor slabs are two-way post-tensioned concrete throughout, offering long spans and support for the dramatic amenity and landscaped areas.
